昔日方舟的記載對我們今日有何提示？我們確信神保證的話是永恆不變，是祂親自在背後啓示。同時神所說的話是可信的，從不浪費一言。因此，聖經記載方舟的故事；讓我們學習其中的教訓。當我閱讀這故事時，我感到震驚，現今的世界竟和當中挪亞的時代相似。因此，我們應該有智慧的從歷史中學習如何活在當下，否則，我們便重蹈覆撤前人的錯誤。
從方舟故事中；至少有八點學習的功課。為了使我們容易記憶及掌握方舟的教導，可以用八個以‘S’帶頭的英文字來表達。
