A person who has satisfied the Elders Board in the following requirements shall be eligible for membership in the Church.
The person:
a) professes faith with satisfactory evidence in Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Saviour;
b) has been baptized or confirmed after regeneration;
c) is living a consistent Christian life;
d) is willing to subscribe to the Purpose of the Church, including the By-law;
e) has regularly attended the Sunday worship for at least three months immediately preceding membership application;
f) agrees to accept the discipline of the Church.
Member’s Covenant
Having been led by the Holy Spirit, the Members receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and on the profession of their faith through baptism or confirmation in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, the Members in the presence of God, angels, and the Church most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
Members covenant, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit:
a) to walk together in Christian love;
b) to strive for the advancement of the Church and God’s kingdom in knowledge, holiness, compassion, justice, righteousness and mercy
c) to promote the prosperity and spirituality of Christ’s universal church by upholding its sacraments, practicing discipline, and following biblical teachings;
d) through the resources entrusted to the Members – spiritual gifts, time, and finances – to cheerfully and regularly contribute to the support of the ministry and general expenses of the Church, the spreading of the Gospel among all nations, and the relief of those who are in need;
e) Make every effort to maintain unity in the Church and not to evoke division.
Members also covenant:
a) to maintain family and personal devotions;
b) to educate their children in the Christian faith;
c) to seek the salvation of their kindred and acquaintance;
d) to walk carefully and responsibly in the world, to be the salt and light of society, to be just in their dealings, faithful in their engagements, exemplary in their lifestyle, and to be zealous in their efforts to advance the kingdom of their Saviour.
Members further covenant:
a) to stand guard for one another in Christian love and concern
b) to remember each other in prayers;
c) to aid and support each other in sickness, in distress, and in other situations of life;
d) to cultivate Christian empathy in feeling and courtesy in speech;
e) to rebuke, correct, and encourage one another and to speak the truth in love;
f) to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation;
g) to be mindful of the teachings and example of Jesus Christ
